Are you thinking of becoming a postpartum doula, Baby Nurse or Newborn Care specialist? Do you have a passion for the postpartum time and want to support women and families in one of the most beautiful yet challenging times of their lives?

Then read on to learn what an INNATE Postpartum Care Provider is and why you should take this route over the traditional Postpartum Doula and Baby Nurse options.

Before becoming an INNATE Postpartum Care provider I had been working as a Postpartum doula for 8 years. I absolutely loved being a doula but after a few years of being in the business I started to feel like there was something more besides taking care of the newborn and household duties so the mother could rest. I also began noticing a pattern. Most of my clients were expressing the same feelings of isolation, anxiety and depression. This sent me on a crazy search to understand why so many women were feeling this way. I wanted to delve deeper and truly understand the postpartum time. I asked myself, How can I better support my clients? How can I help them feel more supported, nurtured and loved. Was this “normal” in all parts of the world? Was this just part of having a baby?

One day, after searching for some months, my sister recommended a postpartum workshop to me. When I read the description I knew in that moment that this was what I had been searching for!

After taking the workshop my whole approach completely changed. It changed my life in so many ways.

What the INNATE Course teaches:

  • Women’s physiologic design in the postpartum
  • Healing foods, teas that are specific to the postpartum
  • Postpartum Traditions from around the world
  • *Healing therapies
  • Ceremony
  • The importance of community in the postpartum (This one is HUGE!)
  • And more!

If you have a passion for supporting women in the postpartum time then I highly recommend this course. It is so crucial to have this knowledge so you are able to really support the women you work with. If you’re already a doula and are wanting to learn more, this course will take your doula skills to a whole new level!

INNATE Postpartum Care – Certification Training deeply explores the WHY behind postpartum care. This WHY is often forgotten in modern postpartum care practices – even when the HOW is remembered.

In the modern world, there are implicit and explicit expectations that Mothers do the work – that truly is the work of an entire village. As a result, we see the majority of Mothers in a constant state of depression, anxiety, overwhelm, and dis-ease. This negatively impacts not only the health and resiliency of Mothers – but also the children – who are our future generations. For the entirety of our human history, throughout the world – except for the past 100 years or so – we have lived within the context of COMMUNITY. Yet only a small number of birth and health care practitioners truly recognize this core problem and seek to change the course of their work to reflect its solution.

INNATE Postpartum Care – Certification Training was created to tend to this exact matter; in acknowledgment that our environment IS our health.

Ancient postpartum traditions throughout the world — while specific to their own cultural context — all share deep common roots.

These commonalities of postpartum traditions throughout the world are not a coincidence — they come from our physiologic design as humans.

And while the birth community is coming to know and accept ‘Physiologic Birth,’ far fewer practitioners realize that Mothers also have a PHYSIOLOGIC design of what our needs are postpartum.

We have been surviving as Mothers and infants in modern times—but on a whole, we have not been thriving.

When we truly understand this (and its implication for not just Mothers, but also families, communities and Earth), the dominant cultural view of postpartum care begins to shift from luxury to NECESSITY for women’s LIFE-LONG health and well-being. Because women are the heart, the foundation of the people, thriving women means thriving families, communities and world.

INNATE Postpartum care is for birth workers, health care providers and traditional healers worldwide. INNATE’s system of care draws upon the modern sciences of Epigenetics, Psychoneuroimmunology, Pre and Perinatal Psychology, the Primal Continuum, Womanist Physiology and Anatomy and more,
